"Cochin’s personal joy in the material is simply contagious... [He is] creative, vivid, always-adventurous and extremely queer... " - Windy City Times
"Boyish-looking Jonah Cochin makes his auspicious PrideArts debut as Jeff in [title of show]... Mr. Cochin has wonderful chemistry with Mr. Coppess’ Hunter, exudes plenty of youthful energy, a radiant smile, beautiful singing, spot-on dancing and comic timing, making Jeff a standout in this presentation. " - Chicago Theatre Review
Jonah is a Chicago-based actor, singer, performer, and musician. From a young age, Jonah dreamed of a career in the arts, and found any opportunity he could to perform. From the living room plays he created with his brother and sister to his Chicago professional debut in Blank Theatre Company's production of Spring Awakening to writing his own music, Jonah constantly looks for new and different opportunities to share his voice with others. Jonah received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) at Roosevelt University in 2019, and has since been seen in a variety of productions and performances throughout the Chicagoland area and beyond. Some favorite past roles include Adam in The Apple Tree, Matt in The Fantasticks, Dennis in All Shook Up, and Medvedenko in The Seagull, among many others.
Originally from Newton, Massachusetts, Jonah moved to Chicago in 2015 and discovered a love for the city he now calls home. When not performing onstage, Jonah performs for a much younger audience as a teaching artist with the not-for-profit organization Stages Chicago, focused on "bringing the highest quality, developmentally appropriate performing arts experiences to children and families." In his free time, Jonah enjoys trying out new songs on his guitar, learning as much as he can about 60's and 70's music, and exploring new areas of Chicago!
